Kidney Interrupted – Be the Reason

This is a wonderful way to make a fellow human feel good! Selfishly, it will make you feel the same. I passed a man walking on a back road today and we nodded and smiled. On my trip back, I slowed, kind of stuck my head out the window of my car and said “getting that exercise in, huh?”. He laughingly said “yes and what a beautiful day for it”. We made a connection and each of us felt the better for it!

As I looked in the mirror at the man continuing on his walk, enjoying his day, I knew we both had the same thing going through our minds. Something to the effect of how nice our exchange had been and he might’ve had the same little inner smile I did!

Of course, I took it another step and analyzed further, because that’s what I do. I know I’ve been given a smile at times when I’ve needed one the most. By a random person. It jolts me back to reality from whatever I had been so deep in worry about that it actually showed on my face. In public, no less.

From the encounter with the ‘walking man’, I wondered how many times a person’s whole day might be changed in one brief moment with a sweet, sincere smile such as his. I’d like to think the possibilities are great. Let’s make a pact and try it at least once a day, maybe two.

Let me know how it goes for you. Thanks y’all for trying this with me! 😊
