Why You Should Hire A Professional Photographer

Have you ever wondered if you should hire a professional photographer or just let your cousins sister-in-law’s brother take the photos for you?

As a retired event planner, I will ALWAYS suggest you HIRE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER.

After your event is over, whether it’s a wedding, 50th Anniversary Celebration, or a birthday party, the only thing left in 25 years, besides your memories, will be your photographs. And you want them to be great, right? These days it’s ok to DIY your events, but if someone is willing to give you a bargain to take your photos, you might turn out having your photos look like bargain photos.

I asked my friend and Middle Tennessee photographer, Angel Pardue, to tell me why it’s best to hire a professional to take your photos.

Angel. As seen through the eyes (and camera) of her husband, Leon.

Here’s what she said.

  • It’s an investment!

When you pay a professional photographer, you’re investing your money into high quality images. The goal is to share your photos with your family and friends and you’ll probably have them displayed throughout your home. You’re not going to leave them in a drawer or on a flash drive. The photos taken by a professional photographer will represent you and your loved ones. We usually spend a lot on our surroundings. Why not complete your home with great photos?

  • The proof is in the details!

A professional photographer will pay attention to the small things that make a great photo. Professionals know what time of day and where the best light will be. Poses are made easier, dresses are smoothed, hands are placed, surrounding clutter is removed. Your photographer will think about your smiles and expressions in order to tell the right story. It’s the little things that will make your photography session much easier on you so you can enjoy the experience.

  • Training!

Professional photographers have been trained and have the experience they need to make your event photos memorable. It takes years of hard work, time, and money to sharpen the skills you will want your photographer to have to make lasting images for you. Over time they continue to learn as technology changes and better equipment is needed.

  • Commitment!

When you hire a professional photographer, they are yours for the time that you need them because they are contractually obligated to be there. They will always show up! Knowing this will make your day and photo session much easier. All you need to do is relax and enjoy the attention.

So there you have it. Who needs more proof than that? Well, just in case….check out the wedding photos in this post. Or just look at the ones below. The proof is in the details.

Doesn’t this photo make you want to pick up one of those macaroons and eat it? That’s good detail.

From the sofa to the poof in the dress. From the ringlets in her hair to the smile on her face. From the darkened door windows to the beautiful bouquet. That’s detail.

Weddings. Focusing on what’s most important, of course. That’s detail.

Pregnancy. The sweet little details of a newborn.

Family of 3….

… or family of 5.

Sisters.

Seniors.

Sports.

Sweet lovable kitty photos.

Or anything in between.

Do you see where we’re going? There are details in every single picture that makes a professional photographer good at what they do.

One of the reason’s I became a wedding planner was to help brides live out the most important day of their lives. Because of this…this is MY wedding.
This is exactly why you hire a professional.
